Crowns

Dental crowns are used to restore a tooth that would otherwise be in danger of breaking. Crowns strengthen and protect the remaining tooth structure and can improve the appearance of your smile. A crown is typically crafted from strong porcelain material and affixed to the affected tooth with a durable dental resin. Porcelain crowns are made to match the shape size and colour of the tooth, giving you a natural, long-lasting beautiful smile.

Bridges

A bridge is a fixed dental appliance that replaces one or more missing teeth. They are cemented in place using the surrounding teeth as support. Typically, a bridge consists of two crowns that go over the two anchoring teeth (abutment teeth) and are attached to pontics (artificial teeth), to fill in the gap created by one or more missing teeth.

Your Dentist may recommend a Crown or bridge if:

• Replace a large filling when there isn't enough tooth remaining

• Protect a weak tooth from fracturing

• Restore a fractured tooth

• Attach a bridge

• Cover a dental implant

• Cover a discoloured or poorly shaped tooth

Dentures (Complete and Partial)

For patients who are not candidates for dental implants and for those who desire other options for missing teeth replacement, complete or partial dentures may be the ideal option. A complete set of dentures can be performed for patients who are missing all of their teeth. This technique utilizes an oral appliance affixed with natural-looking artificial teeth. It is custom-designed for the best possible fit and appearance. In addition to helping with chewing and speaking, a complete set of dentures can create a fuller profile of the face, which can have an effect on one’s overall appearance.

Partial dentures can be an option for patients who are missing multiple teeth in certain areas of the mouth. In most cases, they are designed to fill large spaces between existing teeth. They can also be created to cover an entire section of the mouth. Custom-designed partial dentures are removable, with results that can look and feel very natural.
